I love anything that is travel themed and so when I first saw the AC031 Travel set, I just knew I would have loads of fun with it. I really stepped out of my normal comfort zone and decided to add a little paint to the card then stamp directly over the top with Staz-On ink, of course once it was dry.

Creafine has grown from a small shop to one of the leading stamping shops in the Netherlands. Shari Carroll is moving into an exciting new position at Simon Says Stamp and will be leaving the Hero Arts Design Team. Shari has been a long-time contributor at Hero Arts, serving as an independent contractor on the Hero Arts team for the past 24 years! Shari has developed Hero Arts teaching programs, classes, retailer tools, card ideas, stamp designs, ink colors, digital downloads, and has been a perennial contributor to the award-winning Hero Arts catalogs. Who can forget Shari’s fantastic Real Flower cards and techniques from years past, to her use of daubers in the most recent Hero Arts Stamp Your Story catalog. Shari is a fixture on the Hero Arts website as a consistent blog contributor, author of the monthly technique articles, videos, and cards of the week. She is well known for her love of brown, her humor, her love of coffee (including spilling it on herself), and most of all for being a true friend and family member of the Hero Arts team! This isn’t a goodbye but instead the most sincere wish of great success, fulfillment and joy at Simon Says Stamp. Best of luck, Shari!

The rest of the team gathered together some of our favorite projects and memories of our dear Shari, which Lisa combined into this beautiful collage. The project at the upper left says it best - “you inspire me”. Shari, you inspire all of us!

Little did I know that back in 1989 I would begin the adventure of a lifetime.

Hero Arts has gifted me with many things over the years from personal growth as a stamp artist to trusting me with new product development and much much more in between. I have gained the most incredible lifelong friendships that see no boundaries.  What started as just a job, blossomed into a wonderful and fulfilling career. I have been blessed to be a part of the many stages Hero Arts has experienced in becoming a leader in the industry and take great pride in my contributions.

As I close this adventure to start another, I will miss my Hero Arts family dearly and wish them only the best in their future endeavors.

Last month in my technique article, I showed a fun way of using the Hero Arts Stencils. In the very end of the video I show a piece that I set aside…well this is what I made from my “left overs”. I love getting the most out of my supplies.

To get this look, I just stamped the Paint Print with white pigment ink, then let it dry really well — I used my trusty heat tool to speed up the drying time — yeah, I’m impatient ha! — then went to town with the daubers.

So cool how the white ink resists the daubers — no embossing needed! And I think the colors look awesome on kraft. (Especially the NEON!)
