Watch it Wednesday with Pockets!

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Next month I’m planning on heading down south for a week of rest and relaxation…. well deserved in my mind… (if only it was Paris!). Anyways, I plan on hauling my sister down there with me and was scheming of how I could make my invitation interesting… the aha moment…
A POCKET! So I devised this card with an acetate pocket filled with the vacation details.

Card by Shari Carroll.  Click HERE for supplies and instructions.

Once I made the base card that I had stamped with Paris, I added more images from the Travel Journal set.  I colored the pieces, wrote my notes and tucked everything nicely into the clear pocket. Then I embellished with ribbons and art flowers.

Are you ready for another little sneak of what’s to come in September.  Ah yes…cold winter days… snow covered roofs… glimmering icicles…  It’s never to early to start planning for the holidays… or dreaming… is it?

Tomorrow we will announce the first round of winners for the July Challenge.  The second round of entries are due on the 29th of July which gives you all about another week.  Click HERE for all the contest details.

I’ll be seeing you on Friday with another pocket idea for someone really special to me.

To you, from me…

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Welcome back for day three of our birthday party!  Here are some little tags.  Simple and cute.  Make a bunch of them and stash them away for last minute gifts!  Quick and easy touches add a lot - look how adorable the Happy Birthday Cupcakes message cloud looks by merely adding some color to the dots with a marker.  In a pinch for a card?  Just adhere one of these to a larger piece of card stock and voila - you’re good to go!

For our video today, I thought I would show you how to make an ultra simple gift card holder.  It is made from a regular 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock.  Our giant Happy Happy Birthday woodblock stamp makes a great birthday cake in seconds!  Add some “layers” with a scallop border punch and bling it up with lots of glitter glue!! A printed paper inside makes a nice contrast…or OF COURSE, you could stamp it!

So, grab a piece of cake, a cup of coffee and start thinking about your challenge card.  Entries are due tomorrow night at 11:59 PST! (Click HERE for all the details.)  And be sure to stop back by tomorrow for our Social Club Thursday - maybe you’ll find your own creation here on the blog!

Stamping Sunday

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Hello again! Before we wrap up the week, I wanted to share this delightful card from Jennifer McGuire that features a charming trio of hearts. Pink and red hearts are lovely, but why not mix it up with some fun and unexpected colors like she did here!? This card can be used throughout the whole year, long after our calendars have passed February 14.
