Paper Tearing Wrap-Up

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

Welcome to the weekend. First I want to thank all of you for answering the question about using vellum on Wednesday’s post. I appreciate all your input and time to write comments about vellum so I am randomly picking two prize winners. They are…

  • #17 - Patricia Swagler (October 21st, 2009 at 6:01 am)
  • #131 - Coraline (October 21st, 2009 at 11:47 am)

Congratulations, I hope you will enjoy the prizes! Please email the blog address (located over in the sidebar) with your mailing address and I’ll send your goodies out to you.

Now for a look back at the paper tearing projects shared this week…

papertearingmosaic-500

I look forward to seeing all the unique ways you use torn paper on Flickr. Remember, you have until Sunday at 11:59pm PST to submit your challenge entries. (Click here for all the details.) I have been looking at the cards during the week and you all have me tearing paper in the evening. I was talking to my mother on the phone last night and she said “what are you doing?” Oops, I better stick to ironing, it’s quieter.

In other news…I can’t wait for all of you to see our new catalog. Jackie has an unbelievable way of coming up with new and better images year after year!! You won’t be disappointed.

Have a good weekend and thanks again for taking time to share your cards and comments with me.

Paper Piecing Wrap Up!

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Well here we are, it’s Saturday already and that means it’s time to wrap up our week of paper piecing! Here’s a glimpse at the week’s projects, from cupcakes and snowmen to boats and hearts…

paperpiecingmosaic

  • Monday - A step-by-step introduction to paper piecing and three cards.
  • Tuesday - Two unique takes on paper pieced snowmen
  • Wednesday - A video and three more paper pieced designs including a mouse, a tree, and a boat.
  • Friday - Paper piecing goes digital!

After all that cutting, the ol’ scissors may deserve a little rest. :)  Not for long though — paper piecing is so much fun and it’s a technique you can turn to time and time again. The great thing is the results look different every time depending on the papers you use. Those scraps keep accumulating and paper piecing makes wonderful use of them, so I hope you’ll give it a try and have fun with the challenge!

I look forward to seeing more of your projects in the Flickr group. There’s still plenty of time to play along — you have until Sunday, October 11 at 11:59pm PST to stamp and submit for the challenge. (For more details, just click on Monday’s post HERE.)

Thanks so much to each of you for visiting this week and I hope you have a great weekend!
