New Monthly Challenge and a Masculine Valentines!

Friday, February 1st, 2013

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the blog. It’s a Fun Friday and I have soooo much to share  with you today so let’s get going! Can you believe it’s February already??? I can’t… but with that comes a NEW monthly challenge! We’ve titled this Love & Lace and you can find more details about the theme, as well as prizes and entry dates, HERE.

The technique of the month is fun folds. You can create any type of  fold you want for this challenge. I have kept mine simple by creating an offset gate fold by using layering papers as my base. I wanted to create a masculine Valentines for my hubby… plus I couldn’t wait to show off our new papers.

Let’s Celebrate

Friday, January 25th, 2013

Hello. And a very happy Friday to you. It’s Lucy here, and I have a clean and simple celebration card to share with you that uses lots of new stamps, so fits in with this month’s theme to ‘Try Something New‘. I chose to use the New Baby stamp set (my favorite set from the 2013 catalog!) but decided not to create a baby card. Instead I created a girly celebration card that could be used for a birthday, baby shower, bachelorette party or any other such occasion.

Card by Lucy Abrams. Click here for full supplies and instructions.

I hope I might have encouraged you to look at your stamps and see how they can be used in new ways. Have fun,

Just one stamp (kinda!) + some CHA fun!

Friday, January 11th, 2013

Hey everyone, TGIF! It’s Sally here, and we are in Anaheim for the annual CHA conference. If you’re at the show too, make sure to stop by and say hello!

photo-1

Left to right: Sally, Shari & Lisa!

I’m having so much fun with my Hero Arts girls here in Anaheim! We even did a little scarf shopping. Can you guess which scarf is mine, which is Lisa’s and which is Shari’s?? Leave us your guesses, and we’ll randomly draw a correct guess to win two ink pads - Unicorn & Charcoal - to coordinate with our scarves! :-)

Before I left, I stamped up a simple heart card (shocking, huh?) in some of my favorite bright colors - red, yellow, pink and lavender. I wanted to follow this month’s theme to “try something new”, so I designed the entire card using just one stamp. Well ok, just the Dots Around Heart stamp as well as a sentiment - so almost just one stamp! :-) Simple but effective. To add a little dimension, I stamped a few of the hearts and foam mounted them on top.

Next week is going to be a really fun week on the blog - it’s time for the Hero Hostess 2013 Catalog Blog Hop! Make sure to tune in all week for that. Yay!

Happy weekend everyone and go stamp something!!

Sending XO

Friday, January 4th, 2013

Happy Friday everyone! Tami here. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday celebrations! My Christmas tree will come down this weekend and that means it’s time to usher in all things hearts! Today I’m sharing a card that could be given as a Valentine, or really any time you want to tell someone you love them.

In keeping with this month’s “try something new” theme, I’ve used two new dies and a new stamp too. Did you spot them?

  • The cute little X’s & O’s were cut with the Alphabet Uppercase Fancy Die. I have to say…I’m in love with this alphabet! It has earned its keep in a very short time.
  • Floral Lace is the other new Fancy Die used here, tucked beneath the tag for a subtle tone-on-tone look.
  • And I stamped the Notebook Paper image onto the tag to give it a bit of interest without distracting from the other elements. Another favorite from the new catalog!

Speaking of the new catalog…did you see? The 2013 products are now in the Online Store!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. Wishing you a great first weekend of the new year!

Neon Birthday

Friday, December 28th, 2012

Happy Friday, everyone!

This weekend is my oldest daughter’s 8th birthday and she requested a neon birthday party. So this week I have been busy making garlands, decorations and scrounging the dollar store aisles for anything neon. And when it came to making her card, I knew the Hero Arts Neon Inks would be the perfect choice. I am always amazed at how vibrant these inks are when I stamp them!

neonbday_122812_reg

I used some fabulous new stamps from the 2013 Catalog including one of my favorite new backgrounds, Tweed Pattern. The sentiment is from the Fantastic Birthday clear stamp set which contains three awesome birthday sentiments that I will be using all the time.

I love to create customized birthday cards with the age and the eight was super simple to create with the help of some circle dies.

I’ll admit this card might be a little much for some people, but for my girl I think it will be perfect and that’s what matters most.

Have a great weekend!

Shimmery Snowflake

Friday, December 21st, 2012

Happy Friday everyone! It’s Shari here with a quick card I created with the help of my trusty die-cutting machine! The background is embossed with the falling snow folder from the Large Christmas Words set. It’s such a perfect embossing folder to use on snowflake cards! And that gorgeous large snowflake is from the Hero Arts 2013 Catalog! It’s called Snowflake (DI064) and is one of our new Fancy Frames dies, which are stand-alone dies that produce beautiful cut-outs on paper - no stamp needed! Make sure and check out Tami’s post from yesterday if you haven’t already, she shared a picture of the actual die (as well as a beautiful card, of course!).

For shimmer and shine, I coated the snowflake with lots of Diamond Stickles. So pretty!
