Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Hello stampers! Tomorrow is National Scrapbook Day, but we’re starting the celebration a day early! We cannot celebrate one of our favorite crafty holidays without a giveaway - stay tuned until the end of this post for that! But first, I’ve put together a pocket-style layout to share. As soon as I saw the OWH What a Guy! set, I knew I wanted to use it to create a layout of the drive my family and I took last summer along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina! (And the best thing about that set? It benefits Operation Write Home!) I used the set to decorate my journaling cards as well as my title block. I started by adding some color with my watercolor paints, in blues & greens to mimic the view. The Sketchbook Letters alphabet is my favorite for spelling out titles!

There are so many Hero Arts sets with fantastic little images and messages that work perfectly on my scrapbook pages, I have so much fun with them! I absolutely love the cling sets like Travel and Remember. And some of the new clear sets, like Family Vacation (Ummm hello! Perfect set name for my scrapbook pages!!), Anything Can Happen, Hurray and My Day have so many great bits and pieces! But my favorite of all is New Ideas - the checklist is perfect for listing out highlights from whatever I’m capturing on my page!

And here’s my complete layout, side by side. Oh how I love the mountains! This makes me want to go back.

And now for the best part of the celebration - our giveaways!! Two lucky winners will win $10 gift cards to the Hero Arts online store!

I think I’ll also giveaway a couple of the sets I used on this layout! One winner will receive What a Guy!

And another will get New Ideas!

Just leave me a comment by Sunday, May 4. Are you a scrapbooker? Traditional? Pocket pages? Do you use stamps on your pages? We know a lot of you are card makers, but I’m curious how many fellow scrappers are out there! We’ll announce the four winners on Tuesday!

I started out as a card-maker but after coming to America, wanted to make scrapbooks. Now I do both in equal measure & also try to stamp on my pages.

I am a cardmaker and really love the What A Guy set - with three sons and a hubbie, it is so hard to find stamp sets themed towards men who love the outdoors, and this one sure fits the bill. Great layouts, thank you for sharing and also for a chance to win!

I started as a scrapper, but fell in love with all the stamps that seem more intended for cards. So I now make some cards (hoping to support OWH with some of my better creations…). But I love the challenge of finding ways to use my stamps on my scrapbook pages! Thanks for sharing, and the chance to win!

I’m a traditional scrapbooker and I love using stamps on my pages to add color and interest. I especially like layering stamps to ad dimension and interest in a quick manner.
