Old, new…and a little bit shabby
Hi there! It’s Tami here with a card to go along with this month’s challenge to try something new…with a dose of old thrown in too!
The old? Vintage book text. Here you can see how I colored the book pages with Soft Cantaloupe and Tide Pool inks, then used Picket Fence Distress Stain to add dots right over the top. Love creating custom patterned papers this way! I grabbed a great NEW heart die to cut hearts from the pages.

Those hearts found a home on a die cut tag (also NEW!), which found its way onto more colored book text that had been stamped with a flourish from the Friend Collage set. Here’s the finished card with some shabby chic touches…

I hope this might inspire you to mix old with new and have lots of inky fun in the process! Thanks so much for stopping by today. Happy stamping!

Thanks Penny! I generally create dimensional cards like these when I plan to hand deliver them to the recipients, and try to keep cards that go through the mail relatively flat. However, if you do wish to mail these sorts of cards, bubble wrap or padded mailers will help protect them. Ask the postal clerk to hand cancel the envelope. This will of course increase the cost of mailing, which is why I try to save the “bumpier” cards for hand delivery.
