Trying something new…
Hello! It’s Jennifer here. I hope your new year is off to a great start and that you are finding time to stamp a bit!
When I saw that our theme here this month was to “try something new,” I was quite stumped. So I thought about the aspect of cardmaking I struggle with the most - coming up with new color combinations. I normally reach for a clothing catalog for inspiration. But today I decided to do something new… and challenge myself to use the colors of what I was wearing at that exact moment. Here is what I was wearing…
I had never used this combination - coral, navy and ivory - so this was the perfect challenge for me! Here is what I came up with…

I also was inspired by the stripes on my shirt and wanted to add this to my card. So I stamped the Tweed Background with Navy ink and cut strips from it… lining them up into continuous diagonal stripes. Worked great!

And since I had a necklace on with fun beads, I just had to add some to the center of the flower! Oh - and that new Pale Tomato Ink? It is a great coral color!

I hope this inspires you to “try something new” with your colors. Happy stamping!
