Operation Write Home Birthday Bash

Hi everyone, it’s Kelly here. Today I’m happy to welcome you to a birthday bash for our friends at Operation Write Home! The organization is celebrating its birthday ALL September long and we’re super excited to be joining in on the fun!

For those who may not be familiar with Operation Write Home, this wonderful organization sends blank handmade cards — made by stampers like you — to deployed service members so they can write home to their families. To date, they’ve sent in excess of 1.7 MILLION cards. Wow! Can you imagine the amount of joy these cards have brought their recipients?

Today I’m playing along with the current sketch challenge going on over at the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Blog. I used the new Epic Love clear stamp set, which is full of awesome images and sentiments that are perfect for OWH cards.

I really wanted the world image to stand out, so I die cut a circle window and set it off with a thin green circle frame.

Then I topped the card off with a little love by adding a red heart covered in Glossy Accents.

   This is a wonderful thing!! Thank you from a family who has been a recipient of these cards while my Husband was away!! It made him able to send me, and his 3 son’s, whose B-days he had to miss! I am going to pay it forward and get a group of ladies together and donate our time and talents!! Thank you for inspiring me!
