Hi and happy Friday! It’s Lisa here, and I have a card that shares some new stamps and papers from the BasicGrey Aspen Frost collection that debuted yesterday in the Hero Arts Online store! Love this collection so much! You see, while on vacation this summer I got to stay in a little cabin with aspens outside the window. Loved waking up and listening to the wind in the leaves — and this collection brings it all back. Ahhhhhh…..

And, the colors in the collection go perfectly with the new Orange Soda, Raspberry Jam, and Forever Green mid-tone inks. And I spy some Tide Pool in there, too! Not to mention that my favorite old standbys, Cup O’ Joe and Wet Cement. Feast your eyes:

Isn’t that aspen bark paper just beautiful? Love. It. And the ornament and leaves were just begging for some colored pencil shading and some glitter! Because glitter is the perfect way to give Aspen Frost a frosty look, no?

In fact, I used TWO kinds of glitter on the card. First, I rubbed Rock Candy Distress Stickles all over the ornament with my finger — messy but fun! Then after it was dried, I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the white parts of the ornament to give it extra dimension. I added Rock Candy to the edges of the leaves, too.
