Hello and happy Friday! We have so much to celebrate today — Summer, friendships, and our wonderful Hero Hostesses. Though we’re sad their three month terms are coming to a close, we wanted to celebrate these women and make it a happy, inspiration-filled day. So here they are…Cheiron, Kathy, Emily, and Marcy have each created a friendship card with a Summer theme for you to enjoy! Take it away, ladies!
Cheiron: “Today I have my final card as a Hero Hostess, a summery friendship card for everyone I know through Hero Arts. And with it, a few words of thanks. Thank you to Hero Arts for this AMAZING opportunity. It was such an honor to be selected as a hostess. Thank you to Tami for all that you do, you are truly fabulous. To my hostess sisters: Emily, Kathy and Marcy - it’s been great getting to know you gals. You will always have a special place in my crafty heart. I would also like to acknowledge the hostess alumni for their warm welcome to the family. And to all the gals over in the flickr group, your encouragement and advice on a daily basis means so much. I have truly enjoyed my time here!”
Kathy: “When I think of summer, I think of sunshine, flowers, birds and lady bugs. All the things, that we don’t see much of, in the winter where I live. One of my favorite Hero Arts sets is the Bold Pop Designs stamps and dies because this set is so versatile. I love using the big flower as a sun especially paired with this Radiant Banner background stamped in mid-tone butter bar ink. As we end our hostess journey, I just want to say thank you to all my Flickr friends! I’ve been so blessed to have the support of my hostess sisters (Marcy, Emily, and Cheiron) and all the wonderful women in the Flickr group during the ups and downs of the last few months. I’ve enjoyed every minute of being a Hero Hostess and I also want to send a special thanks to Hero Arts and Tami for being so easy to work with and so gracious. Sending you all Hero hugs.”
Emily: “For this card, I decided to combine the Hero Arts July Contest’s Summer Adventures theme and technique challenge of Creating Paper Flowers. I started by stamping the Designer Woodgrain on the card base. Then I used the two small flower dies from Bold Pop Designs to punch many layers of white and mauve Japanese rice paper that I had in my stash. I layered them in alternating colours, secured everything with a brad in the centre and embellished them with buttons threaded with baker’s twine. I ruffled all the layers to give the flowers dimension. The frame from Sending You Love was stamped with Hero Arts Soft Leaf shadow ink and die cut with the coordinating Small Tag Frame. The sentiment from Wonderful World was stamped with Hero Arts Iris chalk ink and black ink. Thank you so much, Hero Arts, for the incredible opportunity of being one of your Hostesses!”
Marcy: “Thanks SO much to Hero Arts for giving me this amazing opportunity to be a Hero Hostess for the Flickr Group. It’s been SO much fun and I’ve made some wonderful new friends! Thank you Tami, for being our mentor and friend when we needed it most and to all the Hostess Alumni for pulling together for our sister, Kathy. I will be hanging up my green apron in exchange for my blue card I made for you today. I pulled out my little digital crabby friend and made him blue this time. I thought it was appropriate. And the new Carbonated Background stamp (swoon!) was done with some of the new mid-tone shadow inks and neon yellow! As a group, we chose to do a Summery card, with Friendship being our theme. Friends are special treasures and that is my message for all of you. I really do treasure you all!”
Wow, what an amazing display of creativity! Thank you, Hostesses!
All of us at Hero Arts would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Hostesses for their time and dedication, as well as their kindness and generosity. You are a special group of women and we are so thankful for everything you have done over the last three months. You are a fabulous source of inspiration to us and so many other people! Hugs!
