A Fun Coloring Technique

Hi everyone! It’s Libby and I’m excited to be making my video tutorial debut here on the blog! Today I’m sharing a fabulous technique for getting an entirely different look from your stamps. The image is colored on a lightbox, so the lines on the original stamped image do not show! It gives a more painterly look to your finished project. Such fun! I learned how to do this a while back from my friend Lydia, and tried it out right away with Copic markers (check out that card here). But for today’s tutorial I wanted to change it up a bit and played with water-based markers. I love that it gives the newsprint Big Eyes owl a whole new look!

I hope you’ll give this technique a try. Thanks for stopping by today!

Libby—-you did a super job on the first video tutorial. you are so relaxed and a great teacher. I love, love watercoloring and have taken classes in it. It’s tricky, but this technique is so great–I can’t wait to try it with some stamps I’ll have to pick out of my “stash”. Thanks for the inspiration.
