Hi everyone! Libby here, and I’m honored to be on the blog sharing a card as part of Operation Write Home’s annual Memorial Day blog hop!
Monday is Memorial Day in the USA, a day set aside to remember and honor the men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Personally, I think about my grandma during World War II - two of her brothers went off to serve in the Pacific, both heroes, but only one made it back home. My Uncle Milner was only 18. It makes me sad to think about, but also grateful for the sacrifice he made, and men and women in the military continue to make.
And I love Operation Write Home, an incredible organization that supports our nation’s armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. We are proud to support this organization!
For today’s blog hop, I created a card using Right At Home, one of our three stamp sets that benefit Operation Write Home. I also used a sketch provided by Operation Write Home - Sketch #62 to be exact - OWH has a fabulous resource of sketches you can go to for ideas when you create cards to send in for our troops to use!
And what’s a blog hop without a little giveaway?? I have two of the Right At Home sets for two lucky commenters! Just leave your comment by Monday night, May 28 at 9pm EST, and the winners will be announced on Tuesday!
