Gift Boxes + a Special Sneak Peek Video!

Hi there! It’s Watch It Wednesday, and today we have a very special 2012 Catalog sneak peek video to share with you! Here’s Shari with more…

Wow are you going to LOVE this one!  A beautiful full card size background with tons of detail just waiting for your favorite techniques.  Let me introduce you to the Newspaper Eiffel Tower (CG417).  YUM!!! This will be one of my favorites for the year!

You can find the Newspaper Eiffel Tower stamp and MANY more at a Hero Arts 2012 Catalog Preview Party — check our party page to find a party near you!

And now, I have one more gift wrapping project to share with you this week…handmade stamped gift boxes!

I love to give and receive pretty packages.  Somehow it makes opening a gift that much more exciting!  Red, white and kraft is a favorite Christmas color combo of mine.  I dream of having perfectly coordinated wrapped presents under my tree, but it usually doesn’t work out that way. ;)  However, I do manage to sneak in a few pretty ones that get some extra love.

Created by Kelly Rasmussen.  Find complete supplies and instructions here.

Creating boxes from cardstock is very simple and you can customize the size to fit your gift.  I use a Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board and used the Martha Stewart Crafts: Making a Box video as a basic guideline to creating the boxes.  I adjusted the lid measurements a bit to make a shorter lid.  I wanted to be able to see the bottom stamped box and to add a decorative scalloped border.

Thanks for joining me this week!  I hope you were inspired to add some handmade touches to your holiday gifts this year.

Shari is such a wonderful teacher! I love how she breaks down the techniques and makes a very complicated project simple. The finger painting technique is awesome and has so many other application possibilities for other projects. Also, I love how she does the little, “By the way” tidbits like how to cut the V in the ribbon so that it is perfect everytime. This is a very special project that I am sure I will use. Thanks Shari and thanks Hero Arts. You are the best!
