Masking with the Stamp of the Week
Hi everyone! I’m back today to share a card with you that focuses on this month’s featured technique of masking. Masking is a great way to add interest to your cards without adding bulk.

Card by Kelly Rasmussen. For full supplies and instructions click here.
To create the background, I first stamped the Musical Collage image with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Then I cut out a mask of the bird image, placed it over the stamped background and inked over the top with three different blue shades of Distress Ink. After I removed the bird mask, I used a paintbrush to color in the bird image using some Scattered Straw Distress Ink mixed with a little water. And finally I applied a coat of Glossy Accents to give it a gorgeous shine!

The Musical Collage (S5501) background stamp is a new one from the 2011 Catalog and it’s our Stamp of the Week! It is on sale for 25% off this week only right here in the Hero Arts Online Store.

See you tomorrow for another fun masking technique + video!
