This week is going to shine!

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend and took some time to check out all fabulous eye candy on the 2011 Catalog Blog Hop. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, you still have time! You have until midnight PST tonight (December 13th) to leave your comments and be entered to win some awesome prizes!

This week on the blog we will be sharing different ways that you can add some shine to your cards and projects. On the card below, I stamped the Fabulous Flourish image using VersaMark Dazzle Ink and then embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.  I just love the shiny tone-on-tone effect achieved by this technique! And to add just a bit more shine, I embellished the card with a row of Lavender Gemstones.

The December 2010 monthly contest is underway, and we’d love to see ways what you add shine to your projects!

Just upload you creations to the Hero Arts Flickr Group to be entered to win a $50 shopping spree to the Hero Arts Online Store. The first round of entries are due this Thursday, December 16.

Happy Stamping!

This is wonderful. I am not sure about part of it. Perhaps you would please email me with clarifications. I think my mind is just on over-load right now.

You stamped with VersaMark Ink…then did you restamp it in “Emboss It” pad…and then add the clear embossing powder? Or can you stamp in VersaMark Ink (of any color?) and then pour the clear embossing powder right over that…tap it off…and then heat it with my heat gun?

I would REALLY love to know this…really. Thank you so much for emailing me back with the answer.

Hi Traci! VersaMark works wonderfully as an embossing ink, so there’s no need to restamp it. Simply stamp the image once with VersaMark ink, sprinkle on clear embossing powder, tap off the excess, and then heat. I’ve emailed you with the instructions as well. Have a great day! :)

Tami ~~Thanks bunches for showing us how to shine beautifully. On my computer monitor the color of the card is showing up Plum with Rosey bling. It really doesn’t matter whatever color used this technique will display elegantly. I will be trying it soon with Color Box pigments. Thanks, again.
