Lucky fortunes! (bookbinding video)

Hi everyone!  “Traveling food week” continues today on the blog, this time baking in our monthly theme of bookmaking — yay! We’re going on a virtual journey to Japan to learn how to do Japanese bookbinding and make a cute little book to hold lucky fortunes. I love saving the ones that seem extra meaningful and remembering the good times — but I never had anyplace to store them until now!

Feast your eyes:

Book by Lisa Spangler.  Click HERE for material list and more tips!

Here’s a closeup of that binding:

And here are just a few of the pages that I didn’t get to show you, plus a tip: when you use alphabet stamps to create a title, first stamp it on scrap paper so that you’ll get an idea of how long it will be — that way you can easily center it!

And!  Want cook up some paper fortune cookies?  Check out this video!

Tomorrow is Social Club Thursday, when we feature all of some outstanding stamping that we’ve spotted in the Hero Arts Flickr Group. See you then!

Arigato gozimasu for watching!

What an amazing idea……..to save all of the fortunes you get with your fortune cookies. To put them in a book for added inspiration and so that you can always refer back to them is such an excellent idea. Love it!!!
