Some Summery Winners!

Hi everyone! Are you having a good summer so far? Well we’re about to make summer a little more fun for a few of you! Today we’re announcing the winners from the first half of our Summer Fun & 4th of July monthly contest! Boy oh boy has summertime gotten the creative juices flowing for many of you! Picking the winners this time around was HARD! Ok, ok, it’s ALWAYS HARD! But truly, you all are rockin’ this month’s theme! Check out all the entries HERE and see for yourself!
First up is our pick for Fresh Face - a stamper who’s never won our contest. We’re happy to introduce you to SarahDK1. We loved two of her entries so much, we couldn’t decide which one to feature - so of course we’ll share both! First up, how gorgeous is the coloring on her Hydrangea? The colors, the lace, the layers - everything about this card is beautiful.

She had fun with Hero Arts DigiKits on her second card - we just love how she used the Flutterbies and Flower Faces images! And more gorgeous coloring, too.

The winner of our Digital category this week is another Sarah - the queen of the Silhouette - sarahjane4kids (Sarah M)! For this card, Sarah used the negative space from her Silhouette as a stencil to apply ink to her canvas! Such a clever girl, that one! And such a gorgeous card!

And now onto our Fab Five - some of our favorite cards this month, presented in no particular order. Just like our Digital and Fresh Face winners, every member of the Fab Five will receive a $50 Hero Arts shopping spree.
This card by “card”rageous (Robin) puts us in the mood for 4th of July! Turning our Bold Flourish into fireworks is such a clever idea. The glittery stars were the perfect touch to round out the celebration.

This beauty from luv2scrapnat (Natalie) is clean and simple perfection. It is also a beautifully simple take on the color layering technique. Well done, Natalie!

The name of this month’s theme says summer FUN - so how about this FUN card from Hxnnie (Hannah)?? Her little owl is just too cool for school - and is that REAL beach sand we spy? Such a cute card!

Here’s another work of color layering art, this time from Stampin Sue. Sue had several gorgeous cards using this technique in her photostream, it was hard to decide which one to share! But the colors on this one are just stunning - so warm and summery!

And last but not least, this jaw-droppingly gorgeous scrapbook page from Anna-Karin (A-K). Is jaw-droppingly a word? Well no matter, if the fake word fits, we have to use it! WOW. Just look at that quilling! She also used a large number of Hero Arts stamps on this page, which of course we love to see! Most notably, the Bold Flourish that was also used on Robin’s card above. Same stamp, such a different look!

Congratulations to all the winners!! Please contact us at winner@heroarts.com with your address and phone number, and also include your list of $50 worth of product! You can look through our store HERE to create your list. Please include “June2010A Winner” in the subject line. There are also blog blinkies available for all the winners - if you’d like one, please let us know in your email and we’ll send it along as well!
And a reminder, our June contest isn’t over yet! You can still get in on the Summer Fun, 4th of July and Color Layering technique action! Check out the details HERE - the second round of entries, tagged “June2010B”, are due in the Hero Arts Group Pool by next Thursday, June 24 at 11:59pm PST. Good luck!
Happy Stamping,

Natalie (luv2scrapnat) - I personally always love sewing added to a card like this, and your card is no different, the stitch adds just the right amount of texture to the card. The colors are so fresh and cool for the summertime. Luv it!!!
Shannon Sawyer
Hxnnie - Your owl is so cute, love the shades with the diamond studs!
Shannon Sawyer
Stampin Sue - The colored layers on this card really caught my eye. I also love the little sea shell added as an embellishment.

Anna Karin - I think they got it right, jaw dropping is the word that comes to mind when you look at this stunning layout. I’ve seen these flowers done before (the large yellow colored flowers), but never have I seen them done this well and this beautifully. OMG, I am in love with this layout. I want to learn how to do everything you’ve done here Anna karin. Honestly, I kind of thought no one really quilled anymore but clearly I was wrong and in a big way. Anna Karin has a gift for it and it brings her page to life. In my book you are without a doubt the big winner!!
