Our first batch of May winners!

Happy Thursday everyone! We’re about to make Thursday even a little more happy for a few of you because it’s time to announce the winners of the first half of our monthly contest! We love all of the wonderful cards you’ve shared in the Flickr group pool, you’re doing a fantastic job with the Birthdays, Dads & Grads theme. It was not easy, but we’ve managed to narrow it down to our group of winners, and here they are…
First, we’re so happy to introduce you to our Fresh Face winner, weememories (Jenny)! :):):):):):) If you ever join us on Flickr, you know why there’s a row of smiles next to her name - she’s always spreading her happy smiles around for everyone, on her own uploads and in her comments to others. Well, her projects this month made us smile, that’s for sure! We loved several of them, especially this wonderful “Birthday in a Box”!

This card Jenny made inspired by the movie “Up” is sweet perfection!

And how clever is this card?? I guess she had cupcakes on the brain from the first card, and balloons from the second, and it combined into this fantastically creative and fun card - love it so much!

Next up is our Digital category, which sally sherfield consistently does a great job with! We loved her wonderful Father’s Day card using the car from the HA Vintage Travel DigiKit. She made a similar card in green, check that one out HERE. We all know that making masculine cards can be tough - Sally makes it look easy!

And now onto our Fab Five - our favorite cards presented in no particular order. Just like our Digital and Fresh Face winners, every member of the Fab Five will receive a $50 Hero Arts shopping spree.
Our first winner is one of the sweetest members of our Flickr group. Truly, it’s official - her Flickr friends declared it so! Well not only is bdengler4 (Barb) one of the kindest and most generous people around, she’s also extremely talented! This lovely graduation card is a prime example! We loved several of her cards this month, including her poppies and her gorgeous daisies. Be sure and leave lots of love for her on these cards, because you know she’d do the same for you!

Speaking of sweet people, quilterlin is pretty darn sweet too, as is her card! The paper roses are completely gorgeous with their pearl centers, and the perfect handmade embellishment to accompany our Rose Background stamp. We also really loved her birthday birdhouse card, it was tough deciding which to feature here!

This next card by murphy latrice is a very clever use of our Modern Lines stamp. Her Distress ink tie is completely fabulous - she cut out the shape by hand. A perfect masculine card!

Well, it seems that stampersuzz (Suzanne) hung up her apron in favor of a tool belt! How much fun is this?? She stamped that wonderful front panel on wood paper (neat!) using our Happy Dad’s Day set. It was already fabulous, but then she kicked it up a notch by photocopying and resizing the tool images from the set until they were the right size to create a template - and then she created this set of tools. What fun!!

And finally, one more tribute to dad - this wonderful scrapbook page from DebbieKingston. We love her use of the Silhouette Fern on this. Such a sweet and thoughtful page to celebrate her father!

Congratulations to all the winners!! Please contact us at winner@heroarts.com with your address and phone number, and also include your list of $50 worth of product! You can look through our store HERE to create your list. Please include “May2010A Winner” in the subject line. Just an FYI, we’ll be away from this email account until May 26, so please don’t be alarmed if you do not hear back right away. That just gives you a little longer to debate about what to order, right? ![]()
And remember, our May contest is only half over, you still have until next Thursday, May 27 at 11:59 PST to get your Birthdays, Dads & Grads projects submitted! You can find all of the details HERE.
A big thanks to everyone who plays along with our contests, *you* inspire *us* on a daily basis!
Happy Stamping!

the “sending you ot of hugs” card with the awesome tie on it is so great. I love the colors used on the tie and I also love the sewing that was added to the card. For some reason sewing always adds so much texture to a card, you all most can never go wrong with sewing on a card.

Wow!! quilterin your “thinking of you” card is off the charts stunning. Personally, I’ve tried making those paper flowers that you’ve made for this card, and I’m not able to do it for some reason. Mine definitely DO NOT come out anything like these beautiful flowers you’ve made here. I wish I knew how you made them spread out so perfectly and how you made the back flat enough to lay on the card properly. They do go perfectly with the rose stamp. I also love your placement of the pearl embellishments. Truly a beautiful card!!

Hydrangeas are my favorite flower. So I of course love this card Barb. Very pretty!

Love this “You’re the best” card. It doesn’t even look digital to me. I am so amazed by all the wonderful digital artwork people do. I have no idea how to get started with digital, but I really do need to jump on the digital bandwagon. Sally, you did an awesome job on this card and I love that you did it red, that was the perfect color to choose. The card just jumps out to the eye.

Jenny, your two cards are so sweetly whimsical. When I saw them they just made me smile.
I adore the cupcake hot air balloon, that is so incredibly clever. What a great idea!! And the balloons carrying the house off on the other card is awesome too. I would have never thought to imitate a movie or a movie theme, but I think you’ve really touched on a great idea here Jenny. Wonderful job on both counts.

OMG, I have to say this is my very favorite thus far. Jenny, this “monster size” birthday card just rocks! I adore it!! I don’t usually make kids cards and I don’t have children, but I know that the monsters and the Bots (or Robots) or very trendy right now, and looking at this awesome, awesome card Jenny made, I realized that I could give a card like that to anyone. I have to get (just have to) the lil’ monster stamp set. I’m in love with them. I’m so glad you won the “Fresh Faced” prize Jenny, you completely deserve it.
