Let’s start the weekend with some creativity from Courtney’s closet! Courtney is the darling daughter of Hero Arts’ own Libby Hickson, who helps keep the blog running smoothly and assists our challenge/prize winners. We all love Libby! Earlier this week I discovered that our “Easter dress inspiration” theme was close to her heart. Here’s Libby with more…!

“When Courtney was a baby, every time I’d take an outfit out of her drawer I’d think to myself ‘this would make such a great card!’ - baby clothes are so incredibly cute!! So finally I stopped thinking it and started doing it! I started a weekly inspiration challenge on my blog, From Courtney’s Closet. Here is the original post. I created 58 cards based on her outfits before taking a little break from blogging. But now I’m back and ready to start creating them again! Although sadly, clothes for 2yr olds aren’t QUITE as cute as baby clothes - but never fear, I also have a 4.5 month old baby niece to get inspiration from.”

“I bought this dress on ridiculously cheap Target clearance when Courtney was just a baby because it was love at first sight and I had to put her in it eventually! It’s size 2T and it finally fits her!”

“The dress has an almost watercolor look to it, so that was my inspiration for the card - I made a soft watercolored base for my images, and then stamped them randomly to mimic the dress. The big green bow also had to make an appearance on the card!”

It’s amazing how much inspiration can be found in our everyday surroundings if we keep our eyes open. Take a look in your own closet — you may be surprised at the stamping inspiration you find!
