Let’s Stamp Some Holiday Tags!
Good Monday morning everyone! It’s a brand new week, and we’re turning our attention to holiday gift tags! Stamping your own tags can be tons of fun, and you can create a wide range of looks with just a few stamps, inks, and papers. Our Web Artists have come up with a variety of fabulous tags that I can’t wait to share with you this week. Let’s get right to it and see what Kelly, Lucy, and Barbara have up their sleeves today!
Kelly Rasmussen starts us off with two beautiful folded tags — a fun twist on traditional flat tags. Here’s Kelly with more: “Handmade tags are a perfect touch to finishing off a special gift. I created a couple of tags that open up and allow me to write a little message too. And I stuck with traditional Christmas colors to make sure they would match almost any present I need them for.”
Supplies:
- Ink ‘n’ Stamp Merry Messages
- Flourish Trio
- Dots
- Kraft Notecards
- Chalk Ink Queue - Chocolates & Blueberries (Creamy Brown)
- Chalk Ink Queue - Christmas (Olive Pastel, Warm Red)
- Other: green, red and cream cardstock, cream ink (Papertrey Ink), ribbon (Pink Paislee), scallop punch (EK Success), buttons, twine, sewing
Kelly’s Tip: By using solid colors of wrapping paper, you can keep the focus on your beautiful handmade tags!
Next, Lucy Abrams combined a Hero Arts digital kit (Scribble Trees) with stamping to create a simply elegant pair of gift tags. Lucy says, “I love making tags, and this year I decided to go for a vintage feel by choosing muted colors and adding stitching and buttons. I can’t wait to use these on brown paper packages tied up with string.”
Supplies:
- Digikit - HA Scribble Trees
- Clear Design: Holiday Sayings
- Clear Design: Large Christmas Tags
- Kraft Notecards
- Walnut Stain Distress Ink
- Other: Bo Bunny paper, vintage buttons, sewing machine, twine, pop dots
Lucy’s Tips:
- Print the images twice, then cut out and layer for extra dimension.
- Stitching and soft distressing add that vintage touch.
And last today, we have two super sweet package toppers designed by Barbara Hache. How cute are these?! Barbara shares, “I love this little mouse! His extended hand is great for holding just about anything! After creating the scene I decided that this would make a great shaker tag. All I had to do was to cut a ring out of fun foam and attach it to a circle of acetate. I filled it with chunky glitter and glued the whole thing together with Glossy Accents by Ranger. The kids on your list would love to find this on top of their present!”
Supplies:
- Dancing Mouse
- Ink ‘n’ Stamp Merry Messages
- Memories ArtPrint Brown Ink
- Pink, Pool, Kraft, Hyacinth Notecards
- VersaMark
- White Embossing Powder
- Other: markers, music paper, Fruit Punch Stickles (Ranger), acetate, chunky glitter, Fun Foam, foam tape, circle and scalloped circle Nestabilities dies (Spellbinders), ribbon, colored pencils
Barbara’s Tip: To create a ring out of fun foam simply nest two circle dies and cut together.
“For the second tag I started out with the Holiday Wishes image and then decided that he should have a friend. I added the mouse and thought that he should be offering a present. The tiny bone was hand cut, making a perfect treat for this happy little puppy!”
Supplies:
- Holiday Wishes
- Dancing Mouse
- Memories ArtPrint Brown Ink
- Memories Ruby Ink
- Pink, Pool, Kraft, Hyacinth, Lime Notecards
- Prisma Glitter
- Other: colored pencils, Sookwang tape, ribbon
Barbara’s Tip: To make the background for this tag, stamp Holiday Wishes with Ruby ink and then cover the whole surface with double sided tape. Pour glitter on and burnish to create a wonderful sparkle!
