Fun Friday + Sneak Peek #5!

Hi everyone! Can you believe it’s Friday? I can’t! I’ve been having so much fun sharing sneaks and peeks of NEW stamps from our Holiday and Clings catalogs that the week has just FLOWN by!

Now, let’s have a peek at today’s sneak:

Want to see that a little closer?  Here you are!

I had so much fun coloring these guys — made it seem cooler than the 104 F it actually it was, ha ha.

Now, how about some cards inspired by the peek — only with a little twist!  Since we launched the Hero Arts Digital line last week (click link for more!), we added a NEW Digital Category to the weekly challenge — with a $50 prize, woo hoo! To qualify for the Digital Category, create a project following the challenge theme using at least one Hero Arts Digital Kit.

I’ve been checking out the weekly challenge submissions in the Hero Arts Flickr group, and I noticed that there’s not many digital entries — so I asked the fabulous Shari Carroll to create a digital card inspired by the peek.  Feast your eyes on this fun card that she came up with:

Shari says: “I just love all the polka dots and the colors inspired by the sneak!  I did this card completely with digital using the two digi kits listed below.  It’s really quick and quite addictive!”

Supplies:

Shari has written a very informative technique article HERE to help those new to the digital world — complete with TWO videos!  Thanks so much Shari.

I couldn’t resist playing and decided to create a hybrid digital card using two FREE kits and inspired by the red, blue and green color scheme plus the polka dots:

This was super easy to create — for the digi part, I just changed the color of the flower, layered the friendship definition on top,  printed it and cut it out.  Ta dah! Then I stamped the cloud background and the bird and assembled the card.

Supplies:

Hope we’ve inspired you to try digi — it’s easier than you think.  See all of the kits and more ideas HERE in our new Digital Ideas section.  And, you’ll definitely want to visit the blog next week when Shari will be back with MORE digital ideas, tips and tricks.

Don’t forget to visit tomorrow for the BIG reveal of Sneak Peek #5 + the weekly wrap up!

See you then,

I don’t think digi is for me but I love all the samples! Love those flower designs too. I would have to get a hands on demo of this before I try it, maybe some day who knows.

The hybrid is so cute - seems like the best of both worlds!

I’m not too sure about the digi approach for me - I seem to have a knack of making my computer crash! Think I’ll try watching Shari’s instruction video again and see if I can work up my courage!

Great sneak peaks this week - I’ve enjoyed all of them. Don’t have a Flicker account yet so I can’t upload but I used the Antique Brocade Cling and did an inspiration card - it turned out cute! Basic compared to your great cards though. Loved the little snowmen too so had to pick up one of those sets. Digital? I watched the videos & downloaded the free ones. So far I’ve only printed out the Friends verbage. This is great as a base for stamping or punching shapes - I stamped flowers on it to cut out and also punched hearts and flowers. Thanks again for all the great ideas and demos.
