Win-a-Day: Jacqueline’s Day with Shari!
Today I’d like to introduce you to our fifth winner of the Win-A-Day on the Blog Contest. I am excited to share this special day with Jacqueline de Groot. I’ve been a fan of Jacqueline’s work for many years as we have similar style (only she’s way better at it!). Not only does Jacqueline make beautiful cards, she’s gorgeous inside and out.
Jacqueline was kind enough to answer a series of questions so we can all get to know her better. Here’s what she said…
Q1: What is your favorite stamping technique? (Simple stamping, embossing, collage, etc.)
Jacqueline: My favorite stamping technique is stamping onto patterned paper, preferably with distress inks. I love the look of a distressed card!
Q2: What is your “go-to” color combination?
Jacqueline: My ‘go-to’ colour combination is definately tints of pink, burgundy, beige and brown, as I love vintage colours. I also love various shades of blue and green.
Q3: What are your favorite Hero Arts embellishments? (Gems, pearls, buttons, etc.)
Jacqueline: My favorite Hero Arts embellishments have to be the coloured pearls - I love how they add so much to a stamped image!
Q4: What inspires you?
Jacqueline: I get inspired by the colours and patterns on designer papers. The papers I chose for today so inspire me!
Q5: What is your favorite dessert?
Jacqueline: Sorry, I don’t eat desserts! If I would have to choose one I would say Lemon Merangue pie!
Jacqueline’s first card of the day is a wonderful little collage using the Mix and Match Elements. She has a fantastic design sense, this card is so well balanced. Her classic pink tones are so nicely displayed.

And a note from Jacqueline:
“It was a great challenge to design cards for the blog day with Shari! Shari’s art represents everything I love from shabby chic, distress ink techniques and stamping on patterned paper, so I feel at home with her.
Hero Arts stamps are the best I have ever come across, they have never disappointed me. Thank you Hero arts for the honour of having a day on the blog today!
I am so happy to be a part of the Hero Arts community too and so enjoy the inspiration and kindness everyday of the many talented ladies there!”
