Watch it Wednesday - with VIDEO!
Yay! It is Watch it Wednesday and we have a perky new color combination for your viewing pleasure today. This combo was not something I could normally come up with at my craft table… but I love the results of the 3 samples I am going to show you. The combination is really unexpected and fun I think! It reminds me of Easter candy or all the different super-sweet flavors of ice cream my daughter chooses at the ice cream shop!
Up first is a card I made. I found the easiest way for me to tackle this color combination was to start with a dark neutral color to allow the colors to pop but still keep the card from getting “too loud” from the mix of colors. I went with a dark brown and stamped it with a subtle white background using one of my favorite design blocks. Then I just added small touches of the colors here and there for a whimsical approach to the project.

Supplies:
- Clear Design: Frames and Messages
- Design Block Stencil
- Design Block Reverse Leaf Pattern
- Versacolor 1×1 Lilac
- Memories White Inkpad
- Gemstones
- Other: Patterned paper (Making Memories, October Afternoon), Paper flower (MME), small flower punch, chipboard flourish.
Hero Arts web artist Kandis Smith took a try at this combination of fun colors also and I love what she came up with. She was much braver than I was about using large amounts of each color and I love how they all tie together to bring us something totally fresh and unexpected. Playing with colors can be so much fun!

For our third project of the day, we have an amazing card by the one and only Jennifer McGuire. You must watch her video and see how this technique is done - she is one smart cookie! Jennifer said, “I love clear cards and I love color… so why not combine the two! For this card, I added permanent pen color to the back of acetate that had been stamped with White Staz-On. Such fun and easy to do.”
