Let’s hammer it out..
Welcome to Watch It Wednesday! Today I’ve got more thank you cards that I’ve made from an assortment of my stamped scraps.
One of the “saved” cards I had only needed a stamped greeting. I had previously made a batch of flower and leaf cards that I made from flower printing. The video I have to share a bit later will help you understand how I did this, if you haven’t seen it before.
Here is the flower printed card, along with another coordinating thank you…
Featured Supplies:
- Clear Design Thank You Messages
- DesignBlock Wavy Leaf Pattern
- Thanks Set
- Memories Black Ink
- Kraft Notecards
- Other: real flowers, hammer, paper towel, Prima flower, brass circle paper clip, ribbon
Nature’s beauty is truly amazing…here is a close-up.
Flower pounding is done with a hammer and real flowers. You can use flowers, leaves, vines or anything growing in your yard. There are several books available to inspire you and give detailed instructions. Our video is a very brief introduction into this fun craft.
How’s that for hotel room fun?! Your neighbors in the hotel room next door may not appreciate late night hammering but the paper towels do help muffle the noise a bit.
Be sure to stop back tomorrow, when Shari will announce the winners of last week’s technique challenge. I will also select the winners of yesterday’s giveaway (you have until 11:59pm PST tonight to enter HERE!) Then come back on Friday to see even more fun cards and ideas and another giveaway!!
Happy stamping (and hammering!)

I gave it a try after collecting a few flowers. Didn’t go so well though, it all came out kinda greyish with bits of colour here and there. I am assuming it is the flowers I used. Any common ones that work really well for this?

The only one that came out grayish for me was the purple one. Try pinks and reds and yellows. The black eyed Susan worked great and also bougainvillea. I think you just have to experiment! We tried one leaf that wouldn’t work at all!!
