Giving Thanks

Since Thanksgiving is almost upon us, I thought I would dedicate this week to thinking about how thankful I am for my wonderful life and all of my dear friends. So, this week’s challenge is to make a “simple thank you” card with any stamping scraps you have.

When I realized my blog week was near, and I would be traveling the next two weeks, I decided that these cards would have to be made NOW in a nano second. So, I went into my scrap stash and I found a TON of already stamped scraps that I couldn’t previously throw away. (That didn’t even include my paper and ribbon hoarding boxes!) I picked out some of the scraps (see below) and started creating.

Just by playing around and arranging these paper scraps, I created more than a dozen cards in a very short time. Card making doesn’t have to be elaborate. Just pick one item and build around that.

Here is a closeup of my first card:

I hope you are ready to rescue some of your stamped scraps!  This week I challenge you to create a thank you card that uses at least one stamped scrap and one Hero Arts stamp.  Load your cards into the Hero Arts Flickr pool by Sunday, November 23 at 11:59pm PST.  Please tag your submissions with the word “thankful“.  From the entries we will select winners for the following prizes:

  • NEW!! Fresh Face Winner (someone who has not yet won a contest): $50 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog
  • 1st place: $50 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog
  • 2nd place: $25 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog
  • 3rd place: $10 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog

Yes, you read that right — not one but TWO winners will be winning $50 of new Hero Arts stamps — a Fresh Face in addition to our “usual” first place.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back tomorrow to see what bits and pieces turn into simple thank you cards!
