An Ink-a-licious-Monday

Welcome back everyone. Hope your weekend was spectacular.  Are you ready for a technique week? I asked you what you wanted to see and I’ve listened. Each day this week I will give you an in depth look at some of your suggestions. Along with learning new ideas I have some goodies to giveaway, a fun challenge, plus a few videos.

Today I’m working with ink and color.  A few of you asked me how I achieve color on my backgrounds.  With a bit of ink, some great applicator processes and alas, we have it.  But first, before I show you the goods, I’ve got to thank my friend Tim Holtz for being so intuitive to develop some of the best products available on the market.  Thanks Tim!

Today’s video covers some of the basic ways to apply ink to paper, I will be repeating some of these processes as I delve in to other techniques throughout the week.  Let’s take a peek.

These are a few tags I made with the techniques from the video.  I’ve applied ink to the tags and then stamped them with my favorite image.

Now it’s time for this week’s challenge. Create a card, tag, layout or project using at least one Hero Arts stamp with any particular “technique”. The technique can be something you already know, or even better, one that you’ve learned this week. Submit it to the Hero Arts Flickr Group by Sunday, November 16th at 11:59pm PST. Be sure to tag it with the code word “technique” Here are the prizes…

  • 1st place: $50 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog
  • 2nd place: $25 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog
  • 3rd place: $10 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog

Are you inspired by techniques? I sure am, the inkier my fingers the better.  Remember, the more you practice new things, the better you get.  I can’t wait to see what you all come up with.

Until tomorrow, enjoy and create!

I was wondering what is being used for the stamping surface which she puts the ink onto.
Is it a blotter? A work pad?? Where can I buy one??
