It’s Trick or Treat Friday!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Today is FULL of tricks and treats.

Let’s first talk about the “treats.” First, I have LOTS of mini cards to share with you today.  And three great giveaways!  Talk about a fun “treat!” Keep reading…

Now, let’s talk about “tricks.”  See… all of these mini card treats for you… they are actually part of a “trick” we planned for our very own Lisa Spangler.  These mini cards were made especially for Lisa by Hero artists and web artists as a thank you for all the hard work she puts into bringing this blog to all of us.  You may notice that many of the cards feature owls and birds, since they are Lisa’s favorites.  What a fun “trick” this is!  Here we go…

Our first mini card is from Tami Hartley.  Tami says, “As I searched through my stamps for a sentiment to use on Lisa’s card, this ‘you are the best’ sentiment immediately stood out.  I decided to play up the ‘best’ theme by creating a little blue ribbon medallion.  Love ya, Lisa!  Thanks for your patience, your kindness, your flat out rocking-ness. You truly are the best.”

Next, we have Shari Carroll.  Shari says, “To create this card, cut cardstock to 4″x12″.  Then fold accordian style at 1 1/2″, 3″, 5″, 7″ and 9 1/2″.  Also, thanks to Lisa for your amazing talent and all that you do for us.  You’re awesome!”

Here is a mini card from me, Jennifer McGuire“I wanted to make something special for Lisa – using wildflowers and birds, which are favorites of hers.  I stamped the images with White Staz-On ink on the front of acetate.  Then I colored the images on the back of the acetate with bright colored permanent markers.  The acetate piece is added to the front of the card with hidden pop dots.  Lisa…thank you for making this blog possible.  Big hugs to you for all you do.”

I love this card from Sally Traidman.  Sally says, “Here’s a hip, hip HOOT-ray for Lisa. We OWL appreciate you!”  Sally’s mini card is a tag that opens up like a card.

Here is an adorable card from Nancy Taylor.  Nancy says, “Today is Lisa Day — why a Lisa day? Because Lisa is never too busy to help with computer things, she is an amazing stamper, and willing to give 100%+ to make our website and blog a success.”

And here is fun mini card from Laura Griffin.  Laura says, “I wanted to incorporate a green theme into this mini-card since Lisa is a great advocate for the conservation of prairies and nature.  Lisa, a very special thanks for all of your hard work in coordinating the Hero Arts blog and website. I honestly don’t know how you do it all!  You do an outstanding job, and your enthusiasm is contagious.”

Now it is time for Leslie Lightfoot.  Leslie says, “I stamped my images in brown ink and used frosty white and pink colored pencils to color in my flowers. For the 3D butterfly I used a glue pen and traced along the swirls on his wings…then sprinkled with some purple glitter. And thanks Lisa for all you do! You are always so helpful and encouraging and just a great person to work with.”

Now we have Barb Hache.  Barb says, “I am so inspired by Lisa and so when I was thinking of a making card for her, my first thought was to add an unexpected touch which is where the paper piercing came in. Lisa’s designs are always loaded with fun details. Lisa, I absolutely adore you and I am thrilled to be able to work with you and to call you my friend.”

Here’s a great card from Jacki Jones.  Jacki says, “Lisa makes me smile. The fact that she really seems to enjoy life is evident in her card making as well. I was pretty tickled to have the perfect saying stamp to make a card for her. I added the smile to the saying with a marker just to reinforce the sentiment. Thanks, Lisa, for sharing your talent and hard work.”

A note from Lisa:

wow, Wow, WOW, thanks girls!  What a trick!  And a treat!   I am blushing over here — and I wanted to say THANKS to all of YOU.   I am truly honored to be working with such a wonderful, special group of artists and friends.  HUGE hugs!  And thanks to everyone who reads the blog — you make all the hard work so worthwhile.  Hope your day has as many treats as mine!  Happy Owl-oween!

Now…it is time for the giveaway treats!  Just leave a comment on this post by Sunday at 11:59pm PST telling Lisa how much you appreciate this blog. We will then pick THREE random winners of this stamp set that we know Lisa loves…
