Tuesday….. time for another flower and a fun technique
Wow, I’m so impressed with everyones love of flowers. Not only are they a sign of life after winter, they bring back memories of years gone by and affection for others. I need to get out my botanical book and look up some of the species you’ve mentioned. I have thoroughly enjoyed your stories and passion for our petaled friends.
To continue my Springy blooming theme for the week, I’ve chosen the Sketchbook Flowers stamp to work with today. In this example below, I’ve used Prisma color pencils and a little Gamsol to get some smooth shading.
- Supplies
- Sketchbook Flowers
- So Many Messages
- Neutral Notecards
- Memories Black Ink
- Smooth Clear Gemstones
- Other: Prisma color pencils, Gamsol (Odorless mineral spirits), and ribbon.
Okay, it’s time for a quick video with one of my favorite techniques….Crayon Resist…..watch out kids, guard those crayons cause Mom’s gonna raid them.
- Supplies (both cards)
- Sketchbook flowers
- So Many Messages
- Memories Black Ink
- Black StazOn
- Neutral Notecards
- Acetate Tags
- Art Flowers Neutral
- Clear Circle tags
- Smooth Clear Gemstones
- Other: Crayola white crayon; Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain); Inkssentials applicators and white pen; Ribbon, foam squares.
The air is full of delightful scents of natures blossoms…..can you smell another PRIZE giveaway??? Whoo hooo…I can! Now, promises have to be made that fingers will get inky and paper stamped! In order to have a chance for these treats just leave a comment. No restrictions today, let’s just chat, but I would like to know which David you’re hoping wins American Idol…lol I’m hoping for David Cook!
Enjoy the day and the show tonight :o)
Till tomorrow,

The video was helpful. I did this recently with water color pencils and they came out good too. Now I feel like I need the stamp you used

Love this — what is the technique with the gamasol? Can I find that on the site somewhere?

It’s so great to see the samples like this… I’ll have to say based on the stamp image alone I would not have thought this a stamp I would like much… but the samples really show how nice it can be… I would never have guessed! And the samples are so different, which really shows how versatile the stamp can be when using different techniques…. great job!
