Another background idea, a video and a special guest!
Welcome back! Today, I am so excited to showcase a project from an awesome artist I know, but I am gonna save that surprise until the end of the post.
First, let’s talk some more about backgrounds. Here is another video! This one demonstrates a card with a simple tone-on-tone background (my favorite!) and an interesting twist.
- Sparkle Clear Sweet Moments
- DesignBlock Birthday
- ArtPrint Brown Memories Ink
- Black Memories Ink
- Summer Mixed Gems
- Hero Arts notecards
- Other: Ranger Stickles, Bo Bunny paper, brad, pop dots, colored pencils and Marvy punches
And backgrounds aren’t just limited to your cards, but you can also use them on your envelopes. Here are some simple ideas for decorating your envelopes with the large Hero Arts DesignBlock stamps.
Supplies:
- Hero Arts notecard envelopes
- DesignBlock Flourish
- DesignBlock Birthday
- DesignBlock Stencil
- Primary Chalk Ink Queue
And… now for our fabulous guest artist. Donna Downey! I have known Donna for many years and just adore her and her work. We are so honored to have her create a project with Hero Arts stamps. Here is a peek at her great creation. (You can find more details on her project HERE, on Donna’s blog.) I love how in the last picture she used tree stamps as a bit of a background to her journaling block. Brilliant.
Supplies:
Thank you so much, Donna!
Don’t forget to enter this week’s challenge. All you have to do is create a project with a stamped background. Show us your ideas! For more details on the contest, look HERE.
Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow for some more fun and surprises! Have a good and creative day.

I love the idea of stamping the envelope. I like the tone-on-tone so it’s subtle. Cool tutorial on swing cards!
