Fun Friday!

Wow!! Here it is Fun Friday already! I thought you might enjoy seeing a few “fun” gift cards and tags made with our delightful new Lily Pad Greetings set from the More Spring Catalog. I am a normally heart and flowers girl, but these little frogs are totally FUN. I was making cards last week and had no googly eyes, so I invented my own. Simply take a white or pale yellow tiny brad and add black dots with a permanent pen. Voila!! Googly eyes!!

In case you haven’t had enough ideas this week, you can order my book “Simply Cards” from the Hero Arts store. It is filled with 100 easy to make cards.

I will randomly select a winner for an autographed copy of my book from comments on this post with YOUR favorite simple stamping technique. We will announce the winner tomorrow.

I have one more FUN FRIDAY item to share with you today — a big thank you to Jennifer who created this special scrapbook page for me. I am “tickled PINK” to share my granddaughters, Jasmine and Lily, with you.

Don’t forget, you still have time to enter the Pink Challenge. See this post for all the details.

Until tomorrow,

Great idea for eyes- love it when you get such a great tip on using your existing supplies instead of finding room for a packet of 100 googly eyes in the already overcrowded drawer!
Since so many of my simple faves have been mentioned already, I’ll go with this one b/c I used it on one of my PINK cards- I use sticky tape to cover up parts of a woodmounted stamp design that I don’t want to stamp (eg. just want one word of a sentiment), ink the stamp, carefully pull off the sticky tape and voila- only the bit you wanted will be inked and leave a stamped image.

I’m enjoying layering different stamp images in, I guess, a form of collage. For example stamping a text background, then adding other swirls and image stamps over the top. Sometimes I’ll use different coloured inks , other times I’ll do it all in black.
I’m loving this blog, lots of great ideas.

I love the idea of using your brads as googly eyes. Jennifer’s layout is gorgeous as are your granddaughters.
I think one of my favourite simple stamping ideas would have to be using stamps to make custom pattern paper, so quick and easy, especially with the new clear stamps.

My favorite stamping technique l recently learned is the kissing tecnhnique. So basically, it is where you just ink a solid stamp and then kiss it with an un-inked pattern stamp. This removes ink in the shape of the pattern. Then you stamp the kissed solid stamp onto cardstock. And it’s really nice to get more use from your stamps. I have this oval shaped solid stamp I like to use with the little flowers, I get these stamps to kiss and it comes out as a pretty little “surfboards!” Aloha!

I love stamping - all kinds. Mainly though I stamp images and watercolour them to match my patterned papers. Recently though I’ve tried using the distress inks to watercolour - and they give a fab result! bx
