Think Pink!
Hola!!!!
Happy Cinco de Mayo from sunny Palm Springs! This place keeps me in the PINK. Anyone that knows me, knows that I love pink, and hearts, and simple, stylish designs. My nickname at Hero Arts is the “faucet,” as easy, quick ideas never stop.
With that, I am excited to tell you about this week’s challenge.
Like many of you, I have dear friends and family that have been living with cancer. So, this week’s challenge is to create caring cards for those who could really use encouragement. There is a wonderful organization called “Gilda’s Club” (www.gildasclub.org) for friends and families affected by cancer. We will send all the PINK caring challenge cards to Gilda’s Club for their members to use for someone that needs inspiration, encouragement or cheer. Submit your card to the Hero Arts Flickr Group and tag it with the word “pink”. Then send the ACTUAL card to Leslie at Hero Arts at the address below. You have until Sunday night at 11:59 pm PST to post your cards to the Flickr group. Prizes will be:
1st place: $50 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog
2nd place: $25 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog
3rd place: $10 of new Hero Arts stamps + a 2008 catalog
We will announce the winners next Thursday. AND there will be a prize for the best decorated envelope!!!

For Sally and friends,
This is such an amazing and thoughtful idea. People who undergo cancer treatments or learn that they have cancer, and live with it deserve beautifully created hand made cards. The cards let people know that they matter and are thought of in a positive and uplifting way. Thanks for the idea and for making it happen.

I am amazed to see how everyone has taken this challenge to heart. There are so many entries. Just goes to show that there is still kindness in the world

What a treat to know the cards I made will be sent to persons dealing with cancer. As a survivor, I know the treatments make you feel like road kill (at best) and a card or note in the mail can really boost your spirits. Thanks for the great idea.

I love all of these cards. Hero Arts has wonderful artists. They challenge me to make cards and substitute when I don’t have the supplies. I have a list of things on my wishlist. Thanks for all you work.
