I want to share with you Wednesday
It’s Watch It Wednesdays, so that means today is the day where we Hero artists share ways that we use our stamps and supplies to make the cards and layouts that you have come to enjoy.
To continue my Collage Challenge theme, I’ve put together a little video (for your viewing pleasure) on how I construct a project using one of my favorite CardArt stamps and some very Yummy Basic Grey papers. As you will see, it’s so easy to create
beautiful pieces with Hero Arts Collage and CardArt stamps, just follow the image on the stamp and see where it takes you.
This video may seem a little strange for you to watch as I am left handed and do most things a bit backwards…I cut right handed though (left handed scissors weren’t invented back in the dark ages when I was learning to cut paper dolls). Let’s take a peek at what I have done.
- Supplies:
- CardArt Flower Thank You Kit
- DesignBlock Flourish
- Handwritten for You
- Chocolates and Blueberries Chalk Queue
- Acetate Cards
- Jet Black StazOn
- Small and Medium Pearls
- Art Flowers Neutral
- Basic Grey Paper “Archaic” paper pad
- Be 4×6 talon chipboard
- brads
- Silver photo hangers (JoAnns)
If you’d like to play with these stamps, I have put together a kit Here in the Hero Arts Online Store.
Want to win this card? Just leave me a comment about your favorite technique with collage stamps. I will pick a random number (which I’ve already written down) . I’ll announce the winner on Friday.
Remember, We have two challenges running right now, the Clear Challenge from last week has been extended until 11:59pm tonight. The Collage Challenge is due by 11:59pm PST on Sunday April 13th, so get those entries in!!

I really like card. And I like the videos. Sometimes with these kind of cards it is hard to know which item goes first. Thanks again. Just ones little suggestion. It would be really nice if the supply list and instructions were also available in .pdf format. Just a thought!!!

Your video was amazing! I learned a lot from the few minutes it took to watch! Keep making them!

1. “Watch It Wednesday” still available to view on a Friday? Thank goodness.
2. To play with the words of an old proverb, the video is worth a thousand magazines. What better way of convincing the too-busy stamper to sit down and create at the end of the day?

I really appreciated seeing how you made that card; I’ve not been into collage before but I think I might play around with it. Couple of questions - where do you write on that card if its one piece of chipboard? Second, could you tell us more about the chipboard? Does it come in the card size already or do you have to cut it (and if so, how?), and how many pieces come in a package, etc? I’ve not see that product before in a store.

Hi Erin,
Thanks for your questions,
Here is the link to Creative Imaginations that makes (BE) Bare Elements chipboard. If you click view all, you will see all their Bare elements products, they also list the quantities.

This chipboard that I used is white on both sides, I can cover the back or leave it as is and write my message there.
I hope that helps,
Shari

Wow! I just use the brayer or DTP for the background then stamp and color in where needed. Nothing fancy or complicated but I will sure try this technique. TFS

Wow! Shari you did a *great* job on your video!! {Didn’t I read earlier that this would be your first?} Along with a lot of others, I think I’m one of your collage converts!! Beautiful project and an assortment of great techniques.
BTW - I’d love to share a video on my blog with a how-to, but I’m not sure what to use to record the video. I’ve been looking at the Flip-It Digital Video Recorder. Can you tell me what you used to record yours? And do you know what the rest of the team is using for their videos?
Thanks!

I LOVE being able to SEE all the steps used in making this card. Really helpful. I hope you will add more videos from time to time!

Hi,
It’s almost Passover, and I thought it would be a great idea to use Sparkle Clear Little Letters to rewrite and design the Passover Hagada in a scrappy way, for the next generations to follow (so they can read it without falling asleep because it’s boring…)
Happy Passover!

Hero Arts is so great to have all these how to videos on their website. What great ideas and inspiration and to see how it is actually done is just the best. Thanks to everyone involved in the videos.
